The best English-language stand-up comedy show in Warsaw: Pete Presents

English Stand-up Poland gladly presents a regular stand-up show unlike any other. First of all, it’s in English. Second, it is hosted by the one and only comedian/traveler/writer – Pete Szumowski!

Pete is the only comedian in Poland who has regularly performed in 3 languages – Spanish, Polish and English. He traveled around the world for over 400 days, then wrote a book about it, and now is taking the Polish stand-up scene by storm. Pete Presents is an original idea in which Pete invites his friends, colleagues and other comedians to join him on stage. The whole event is hosted and presented in English – that’s why it’s so unique.

The next event will be held in club Poziomy (Nowy Świat 27a) this Saturday (April 27th) with special guest Toby Arsalan. Toby is part comedian, part writer, part rapper. Living in Berlin he’s known for Monday Night Mics and Joke Time, two of Berlin’s most popular English standup comedy open mics. Like Pete he likes to travel, that’s why he toured four continents, was featured on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and opened for Judah Friedlander, Godfrey, and Tom Rhodes.

Like all of Pete’s guests, we asked Toby 5 “odd urban questions”.

That’s what Toby would say according to Pete:

Bike or car?
Bike. Toby, wanted cycle do Warsaw – when he heard about the gig.
Kebab or burger?
He lives in Berlin. It has to be kebab.
Tinder or speed date?
Is there a difference?
Quick shots or old man sipping?
Why not both?
The best thing to do in traffic?
Ride a bike.
