WarsAWesome: Your Warsaw Weekend Guide (October 14-15)
Sure, the Warsaw Film Festival is a great event and most of you probably know about it. But what else is there to do? There are some quirky events planned for this weekend, number six being a perfect example!
1) Warsaw Film Festival
At the Warsaw Film Festival, the organizers strive to “show a film before it wins an Oscar” and they are proud of “not chasing filmmakers who are already famous”. In 2009, the Warsaw Film Festival joined the elite group of events recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations – next to Cannes, Venice, and Berlin.
Where: Several Locations
When: 13-22 October
Price: 15/20 PLN
Find the program here
2) English Stand-Up Open Mic vol.8 + *Free BEER*
End your weekend in the best way possible: with a nice healthy laughter. Comedian “Ravi Kr” will lead the show, but if you also want to take part in the show, you can sign up on the event page and get your 5 minutes of glory.
Either way, you get a free BEER!

Do you also believe that sleep is a symptom of caffeine deprivation? If so, you are gonna love this one.
There will be lectures about all that is related to coffee (although in Polish). There will also be dozens of stalls with coffee, accessories, and food, so don’t worry too much if you don’t speak the language.

4) Warsaw Art Fair (Targi Sztuki)
Warsaw Art Fair is going to host over 60 galleries and antique shops where you’ll get to know works of both well-known artists and the debuting ones.
Where: Arkady Kubickiego, Plac Zamkowy 4, Warsaw
When: 13 – 15 October from 10:00 to 20:00 (on Friday from 17:00 to 20:00, on weekend from 11:00 to 20:00)
5) Beer and Vinyl records market at Piw Paw
Exhibitors from all over Poland will bring an attractive collection of types of vinyl, CDs and cassettes. But that’s not all! There will also be contests with a vinyl as awards. If you know Piw Paw, it comes without saying that there will be lots of international and Polish draft beer.
Where: Piw Paw, Żurawia 32/34, Warsaw
When: Sunday 15 October from 10:00 to 14:00
6) Faszyn from Raszyn Party
Have you ever heard of the profile “faszyn from raszyn”? They define themselves as a visual satire page. Basically, they post snaps of questionable outfits spotted throughout Poland. Check the profile here.
This is going to be their party. That’s the opportunity you were looking for to dress up in your worst clothes and wear the most obscene makeup. It’s some sort of Halloween without monsters.

Price: 10 PLN
7) Ping Pong Tournament at the National Stadium
