1) Celebrate 18th B-day of JuNouMi Records in Kulturalna

18 years ago JuNouMi Records released their first vinyl record, which was distinguished by deep Polish hip-hop sound and … its red color. At the event in Kulturalna celebrating the coming of age of that mixtape, you will party to the sets of hip-hop legends such as Noon, Ajron or Panda. Free admission. BTW Kulturalna was just named TOP7 best restaurants and cafes near Europe’s main railway stations by The Guardian.

2) Pop round to Chopin Museum to pay respects on the day of Fryderyk’s 210. birthday

It is still not entirely clear when Fryderyk Chopin was really born. He himself used to celebrate it on March 1. The Chopin Museum in Warsaw treats you to special b-day 1 PLN tickets and Chopin’s music recitals on that very day. From as early as Friday, you will be able to take part in calligraphy, embroidery or drawing workshops. The plan also includes writing birthday cards for the composer, which will be used on the temporary exhibition starting on March 3.

3) Make and taste Japanese Jewish dishes in Jewish Community Center

If you are looking for cooking inspirations for the weekend, book an early Friday evening for a workshop with Katia Roman-Trzaska at the Jewish Community Center. There, you will learn how to cook traditional dishes of Japanese Jews. Of course, you will eat all the dishes prepared during the classes on a traditional Sabbath dinner (we bet on kreplach with gyozas).

4) Get your reading list ready on a book fair by Księgarnia Społeczna

On Saturday, in Big Book Cafe on Mokotów, you will have a chance to buy unique titles from fiction, journalism, biographies, memories, letters, essays, poetry, detective stories, thrillers, and children’s literature. All items were donated by the regulars in the project run from early February. Free admission and books for 5 and 10 PLN.

On Sunday, Jewish Community Center invites you to a Purim fair, where you can buy handicrafts, Judaica, books, toys, and clothes. 20% of the revenue will be donated to Adam Sobolewski of the Puszke Foundation. More on FB event.

5) Enter the world of Jewish music on POLIN Music Festival

From Friday to Sunday, POLIN Museum invites you to a festival of Jewish music. The program features a concert dedicated to the women orchestra from Birkenau and a performance by a famous violinist – Michael Guttman. For the grand finale, an orchestra will perform Jewish tangoes. Tickets from 20PLN available on the museum website and at the ticket office.

On Sunday, in the Museum of Asia and the Pacific, there will be a concert of the music of Jews from Fez played by Gerard Edery (FB).

6) Find out how to stop smog on the Idea Pitch Battle in HubHub

On Friday evening HubHub will become a venue for 5-minute sales pitches of antismog products and services. The participants will compete for prizes such as mentoring sessions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or a ticket to the prestigious START Summit 2020 in Switzerland. Worth-coming if you want to find out what options we have in the battle against air pollution.

7) Get in(k)trested in the newest trends on Warsaw Tattoo Days

A treat for tattoo-heads – you’ll find inspiration for your next ink or just get it done there. Moreover, you will find the barbers from Warszawski Golibroda, stands with streetwear, and food trucks. The event will culminate in the Legends of Hip Hop by DIIL GANG concert, with performances from Hemp Gru, Płomień 81, and Paluch.

8) I choose Mine Kraft beer for myself

9) Upcycle your old stuff in Centrum Praskie Koneser

On the Przerób-MY Festiwal, you will take part in free handicraft workshops teaching you to find new uses for old things. You will make and buy upcycled clothes, bags, jewelry, and accessories.

10) Have yourself an orchid weekend in BUW

The Orchidea 2020 exhibition is an opportunity to see and purchase the most beautiful flowers of this kind. For novice gardeners, there will be workshops led by professionals. Just as well, there will be The Most Beautiful Wedding Bouquet contest.

12) Make Pierogi (Traditional Polish Dumplings) from scratch
