The June long weekend is the time to spend outdoors. Bike trips, walks in a forest, chilling in parks, or even leaving the city for a couple of days constitute the annual routine. We’ve cooked up a list of events that will spruce up these lazy warm days – from parties, through food festivals, to a hot air balloon show. Let the “czerwcówka” begin!

1) Parties

Warm June weather definitely facilitates partying. Every weekend clubs located in the center and along the Vistula try to top each other and we are the beneficiaries of that competition. The following events look particularly cool.

  • The agenda of the 5th Birthday Festival of Grunt i Woda is rich with partying options for both kids and adults. The children’s zone has been expanded, special menus prepared, and family workshops planned. In the evenings, the place will turn into an outdoor club with DJ Explota (straight from Cuba), DJ Morowy, and DJ WHC fueling the beats. To spice up the parties, the organizers will invite us to special contests with various prizes to win.

  • Blue Oyster’s B-Day is the most attractive option for partying on a beach. Great DJs, great drinks, what else do you need?

  • Lunateque DJ (Mr Lizard) will be playing an eclectic range of music to suit the therapeutic needs of all manner of flailing Loons. This includes, but isn’t limited to, lashings of the flail-soothing liniment ‘Brit-Pop / Rock’ (and its intravenously injected Indie offshoots…), and unction of New Wave followed by ECT shocks of Electro-Pop and regular doses of Punk, Ska, Glam Rock and whatever else does the trick.

2) Food

Obviously, there are a lot of great places to eat in the capital, but the following events carry a promise of weekend greatness:

  • ZMARZLINA Ice Cream Festival will transport you to the promised land of mouthwatering flavors, extraordinary combinations, and original toppings.

When: Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, from 12:00 to 20:00

  • Kombucha and Tea Festival presents an opportunity to discover the most fascinating stories of tea and kombucha, learn about the variety of their tastes, aromas, and colors.

When: Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, from 12:00 to 20:00

  • Nocny Market is a food court beloved by everybody in the city. There will be classics from the previous 5 editions, exciting debutantes, 5 drink bars, redesigned chillout and music zones. We can’t wait for beetroot and goat cheese pizza from Włoski Strajk. It’s an absolute killer.

When: the venue will be open on all Fridays and Saturdays (17:00-01:00), and Sundays (17:00 – 23:00)

  • OFF Brzeska is a place to buy local produce, savor mouth-watering street food, and bounce to cool live beats. All this in the surroundings of an iconic marketplace – Bazar Różyckiego. The venue’s classic set that we wholeheartedly recommend comprises pyzy (a type of dumplings) and a shot of ice-cold vodka.

When: the venue will be open on all Fridays (17:00-01:00), Saturdays (17:00-02:00), and Sundays (13:00 to 20:00)

  • Slow Market is your choice when you are partying by the boulevards. This year it will be located on Płyta Desantu near Pomost 511 and Fala nad Wisłą which ensures that good food will be accompanied by music that will make your legs dance hard.

When: the venue will be open on all Fridays (18:00-02:00), Saturdays (12:00-02:00), and Sundays (12:00 – 22:00)

3) Shopping

As usual, below you will find our selection of the events on which you will be able to make great purchases:

  • Artichokes, melons, watermelons, courgettes, pumpkins, kohlrabi, kale, and many more straight from the royal greenhouses can enrich your collection of plants, if you visit the Royal Plant Fair, which is an event accompanying the “Plants and animals. Natural history atlases in the era of Linnaeus” exhibition.

  • The Good Book Days are much more than just an opportunity to supply your library with new, engaging books perfect for relaxing relaxation for both adults and children. The event will also include meetings with authors, workshops for children conducted by authors, and space where actors will read excerpts from books for children.

  • 3rd Birthday of Winyl Market X Record Fair Day Warsaw 2021 will be accompanied by DJ sets and showcases that will add the beat to digging in vinyl records, jewelry made from musical elements, wooden turntable accessories, and urban visual art.

4) Enjoying the outdoor

For those looking for daylight outdoor weekend attractions we recommend the following events:

  • The 4th of June marks the anniversary of the first democratic elections in post-communist Poland. To celebrate that, you can visit the open-air exhibition “Rebels 2.0. Women in the 80’s Opposition” (from Saturday, June 5; next to Dom Spotkań z Historią, ul. Karowa 20; FB event) or participate in a free concert titled “I love and understand Freedom” featuring, among others, Skubas, Kasia Kowalska, and Maleo.

  • Balloon Miracle on the Vistula is a spectacular and unique event. The sky over the capital will be clouded with tens of hot-air balloons taking off from different parts of the city. For the first time, the Night Balloon Parade will pass through the main streets of the capital. It will stop for shows at the Poniatowski Bridge, behind Rondo Daszyńskiego and at Pole Mokotowskie (Żwirki i Wigury). Moreover, the Museum of Sport and Tourism invites you to visit the exhibition showcasing, among other sports, the history of Polish ballooning

  • Outdoor Brazilian drums workshops will teach you the basic samba rhythms as if you were in one of the great samba schools in Rio de Janeiro. There will be sessions for children and adults. It is necessary to register for both kinds.
